Jerky’s Gourmet is a San Diego beef jerky brand sold through farmers markets and local retailers. As the product line grew, the packaging needed a stronger visual presence that could bring the different flavors together while still making each one easy to recognize.
The Challenge
Creating a cohesive product line
The packaging needed to feel like a family without making every flavor look the same. Each product needed its own personality while still being immediately recognizable as Jerky’s Gourmet.

My Role
Developed the packaging concept and visual system.
Designed packaging across multiple flavors.
Created visual treatments to differentiate each product.
Worked directly with the client through refinement.
Prepared final artwork for print production.
Key Decisions
01. Build around a simple visual system
The packaging needed a consistent structure that could work across different flavors and continue to expand with the product line.
02. Make flavor differentiation part of the design
Color and visual treatments needed to help customers quickly distinguish between products while keeping the overall line connected.
Design Solutions
A flexible packaging system
I created a shared visual structure across the line, using consistent typography, layout, and supporting elements to establish a recognizable Jerky’s Gourmet presence.
Bold flavor variations
Each flavor received its own visual treatment to create distinction while staying within the broader system. The result was a bright, cohesive collection that could be understood at a glance.
From concept to production
I worked directly with the client to refine the designs and prepared the final artwork for print, carrying the visual details through to the finished packaging.
