Therapy Changes is a San Diego psychology practice offering evidence-based care across a range of therapy services. They came to Explore Digital looking to expand their website and improve SEO, while also addressing accessibility, usability, and conversion issues. I led the homepage redesign, identifying opportunities across accessibility, UX, and CRO and translating them into a more intuitive experience. I also designed a new lead intake flow and later directed the design of additional pages based on user behavior insights from the redesigned experience.
Work Details
Removing barriers
The existing site had accessibility and usability issues that made it harder for some visitors to navigate and find the right information. I ran an accessibility audit to identify key issues and opportunities to move the experience toward WCAG AA compliance.
Helping people take the next step
With a wide range of therapy services, the existing experience didn't provide enough guidance for prospective clients. There was an opportunity to make services easier to understand and create clearer paths toward getting started.
Design Solution
Designing for accessibility
I incorporated the accessibility improvements identified through the audit, addressing key usability issues and creating a stronger foundation for WCAG AA compliance.
A clearer path to care
I introduced visual elements to make services easier to understand, along with a three-path intake experience for visitors who need help choosing a service, are ready to request an appointment, or simply have questions.
Designing from real behavior
After launch, we analyzed user behavior through Hotjar. The findings showed improved navigation while identifying additional opportunities for refinement, which I directed through the subsequent page designs.
